NEW YORK, Dec 1 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks rose 1 percent at the open on Wednesday as upbeat U.S. and Chinese data lifted investor confidence about a global economic recovery.
* The Dow Jones industrial average gained 149.85 points, or 1.36 percent, to 11,155.87. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index jumped 16.82 points, or 1.42 percent, to 1,197.37. The Nasdaq Composite Index advanced 42.30 points, or 1.69 percent, to 2,540.53.
