NEW YORK, Dec 2 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks extended gains on Thursday after data showed pending sales of existing homes unexpectedly surged in October.
* At the same time, the euro rose versus the dollar, erasing early losses as investors focused on comments from the European Central Bank related to the euro zone debt crisis.
* The Dow Jones industrial average rose 69.85 points, or 0.62 percent, to 11,325.63. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index added 8.54 points, or 0.71 percent, to 1,214.61. The Nasdaq Composite Index advanced 15.87 points, or 0.62 percent, to 2,565.30.
