NEW YORK, Jan 5 (Reuters) - U.S stocks rose on Wednesday with the major indexes hitting session highs supported by strong data on new private-sector jobs and the services sphere.
The Dow Jones industrial average gained 27.21 points, or 0.23 percent, to 11,718.39. The Standard & Poor's 500 rose 4.34 points, or 0.34 percent, to 1,274.54. The Nasdaq Composite added 15.72 points, or 0.59 percent, to 2,696.97.
