NEW YORK, Sept 28 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks gained on Tuesday as latecomers jumped onto the September bandwagon, buying up sectors that have outperformed during the month.
* The Dow Jones industrial average rose 46.10 points, or 0.43 percent, to end unofficially at 10,858.14. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index gained 5.54 points, or 0.49 percent, to finish unofficially at 1,147.70.
