NEW YORK, Sept 15 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks cut initial losses to edge higher on Wednesday as gains in healthcare and technology shares offset earlier profit-taking after weak economic data.
The Dow Jones industrial average gained 35.50 points, or 0.34 percent, to 10,561.99. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index added 0.68 points, or 0.06 percent, to 1,121.78. The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 2.45 points, or 0.11 percent, to 2,292.22.
