NEW YORK, Nov 12 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks ended lower on Friday, snapping a five-week winning steak, as the threat of rising interest rates in China prompted investors to book profits and reassess bullish positions in equities.
Based on the latest data, the Dow Jones industrial average dropped 90.52 points, or 0.80 percent, to end unofficially at 11,192.58. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index dropped 14.33 points, or 1.18 percent, to finish unofficially at 1,199.21. The Nasdaq Composite Index dropped 37.31 points, or 1.46 percent, to close unofficially at 2,518.21.
For the week, the Dow and the S&P 500 each fell 2.2 percent, while the Nasdaq lost 2.4 percent. (Reporting by Caroline Valetkevitch; Editing by Jan Paschal)
