NEW YORK, Jan 7 (Reuters) - Bank shares led Wall Street lower on Friday after a court ruling voided foreclosures on two homes, which may cause sales of other foreclosed properties to be invalidated.
The ruling by Massachusetts' Supreme Judicial Court upheld a lower court ruling against US Bancorp and Wells Fargo & Co. For details see.
The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 51.76 points, or 0.44 percent, to 11,645.55. The Standard & Poor's 500 fell 6.41 points, or 0.50 percent, to 1,267.44. The Nasdaq Composite lost 12.49 points, or 0.46 percent, to 2,697.40.
