* Company does not expect near-term sale
* Unit expected to post 20 million eur loss in 2009
(Adds background on Acciona Wind)
LONDON, Sept 30 (Reuters) - Spanish energy engineering and construction company Acciona SA is considering the sale of part of its wind turbine manufacturing business, a company executive told the Jefferies clean energy conference in London.
"Probably Acciona doesn't need 100 percent of that," investment relations spokeswoman Ines Prieto Ortega told Reuters.
"I don't think you'll see an announcement in the short term, we shall see."
The company would first concentrate on absorbing excess wind turbine inventory through 2010, Ortega said, adding that the business "is not going through its best year".
Acciona executive Juan Muro said in July that the company's wind turbine business, which produces about 2.6 GW of wind turbines per year from 4 factories in the United States, China and Spain, will post a 20 million euro ($29.33 million) loss in core earnings in 2009.
Acciona Wind manufactures 1.5 and 3 megawatt turbines. ($1=.6819 Euro) (Reporting by Gerard Wynn, writing by Gerard Wynn and Jonathan Gleave; Editing by Jon Loades-Carter)
