* Former SG's Khayat becomes UniCredit investment bank No.2
* Former SG top banker heads UniCredit's CIB since February (Adds detail, background)
MILAN, May 5 (Reuters) - UniCredit named a slate of new managers in a revamp to its corporate and investment banking division (CIB) after a former Societe Generale top banker took the helm in February.
The Italian lender has long struggled to break into investment banking's top tier. In February UniCredit named Jean-Pierre Mustier as its investment banking chief in a sign of commitment to its international business, after the ouster of former boss Alessandro Profumo who led UniCredit's expansion abroad.
UniCredit said on Thursday former Societe Generale banker Olivier Khayat would become deputy head of the CIB division and co-head of the Financing and Advisory (F&A) product line.
"Khayat will work on a project to regroup UniCredit's Equity and Debt Capital Market activities within F&A," the bank said in a statement.
UniCredit also named Vittorio Ogliengo, in addition to his role as co-head of F&A, as head of Investment Banking in Italy and put Alessandro Cataldo in charge of Corporate Banking Network Italy, replacing Piergiorgio Peluso.
TJ Lim is the sole head of the Markets Product Line with immediate effect.
