FRANKFURT, Nov 25 (Reuters) - Loss-making German pay TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland has appointed News Corp manager Steven Tomsic as Chief Financial Officer starting Feb. 1 next year.
Tomsic, who currently heads corporate finance and planning for News Corp in Europe and Asia, will replace Pietro Maranzana, who was responsible for Sky Deutschland's finances since June 2009, Sky Deutschland said on Thursday.
Maranzana will return to Italy to become deputy CFO at Sky Italia.
Previously, Tomsic has worked at Sky Italia and at Foxtel, the Australian pay-TV platform partially owned by News Corp.
News Corp also owns a 49.9 percent stake in Sky Deutschland.
Sky Deutschland, formerly known as Premiere, is aiming to increase subscriber numbers and finally become profitable.
