Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Software & Computer Services, Mining and Tobacco sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 lost 1.76% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Hammerson PLC (LON:HMSO), which rose 24.09% or 105.30 points to trade at 542.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Barclays PLC (LON:BARC) added 3.58% or 7.50 points to end at 217.00 and Land Securities Group PLC (LON:LAND) was up 3.31% or 30.00 points to 936.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Micro Focus International PLC (LON:MCRO), which fell 46.35% or 873.50 points to trade at 1011.00 at the close. Glencore PLC (LON:GLEN) declined 4.21% or 16.25 points to end at 369.25 and Anglo American PLC (LON:AAL) was down 4.21% or 74.40 points to 1695.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1377 to 608 and 127 ended unchanged.
Shares in Micro Focus International PLC (LON:MCRO) fell to 3-years lows; losing 46.35% or 873.50 to 1011.00.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.41% or 5.40 to $1317.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.51% or 0.32 to hit $62.09 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.24% or 0.16 to trade at $66.05 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.72% to 1.4042, while EUR/GBP fell 0.36% to 0.8787.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 89.43.
