Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Automobiles & Parts, Electronic & Electrical Equipment and Industrial Engineering sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 fell 1.16% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Mediclinic International PLC (LON:MDCM), which rose 1.67% or 7.40 points to trade at 451.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Next PLC (LON:NXT) added 1.57% or 84.00 points to end at 5424.00 and Centrica PLC (LON:CNA) was up 1.00% or 1.50 points to 152.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ashtead Group PLC (LON:AHT), which fell 5.26% or 121.00 points to trade at 2181.00 at the close. Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (LON:RR) declined 3.98% or 38.20 points to end at 922.00 and Vodafone Group PLC (LON:VOD) was down 3.52% or 5.64 points to 154.58.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1643 to 468 and 259 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.29% or 15.50 to $1190.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.67% or 0.50 to hit $73.84 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.97% or 0.82 to trade at $83.34 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.44% to 1.3059, while EUR/GBP rose 0.08% to 0.8786.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 95.55.
