Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Fixed Line Telecommunications, Oil & Gas Producers and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 lost 0.95%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Coca Cola HBC AG (LON:CCH), which rose 9.23% or 219.0 points to trade at 2592.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Worldpay Group PLC (LON:WPG) added 4.89% or 19.00 points to end at 407.50 and Randgold Resources Ltd (LON:RRS) was up 1.29% or 95.00 points to 7475.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were BT Group PLC (LON:BT), which fell 4.60% or 14.40 points to trade at 298.90 at the close. Rio Tinto PLC (LON:RIO) declined 3.32% or 119.50 points to end at 3479.50 and Lloyds Banking Group PLC (LON:LLOY) was down 3.11% or 2.08 points to 64.83.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1394 to 502 and 462 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.83% or 10.65 to $1289.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.69% or 0.34 to hit $49.22 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.28% or 0.15 to trade at $52.55 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.25% to 1.2973, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.9058.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 93.41.
