Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Construction & Materials, Industrial Engineering and Automobiles & Parts sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 declined 0.84%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Randgold Resources Ltd (LON:RRS), which rose 4.56% or 345.00 points to trade at 7915.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES) added 2.60% or 41.00 points to end at 1621.00 and Anglo American PLC (LON:AAL) was up 1.04% or 14.00 points to 1353.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ITV PLC (LON:ITV), which fell 4.91% or 7.90 points to trade at 153.00 at the close. WM Morrison Supermarkets PLC (LON:MRW) declined 3.70% or 9.30 points to end at 242.10 and CRH PLC (LON:CRH) was down 2.68% or 73.00 points to 2647.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1412 to 517 and 430 ended unchanged.
Shares in ITV PLC (LON:ITV) fell to 3-years lows; down 4.91% or 7.90 to 153.00.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.44% or 5.80 to $1321.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.42% or 0.66 to hit $45.91 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.19% or 0.10 to trade at $51.32 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.02% to 1.2935, while EUR/GBP rose 0.31% to 0.9291.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 91.94.
