Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Mobile Telecommunications, Electrical and Oil & Gas Producers sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 fell 0.66% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Royal Mail PLC (LON:RMG), which rose 5.71% or 26.80 points to trade at 496.30 at the close. Meanwhile, ITV PLC (LON:ITV) added 3.50% or 5.85 points to end at 172.85 and 3I Group PLC (LON:III) was up 2.15% or 20.00 points to 951.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Capita PLC (LON:CPI), which fell 13.10% or 23.90 points to trade at 158.60 at the close. Vodafone Group PLC (LON:VOD) declined 4.54% or 10.20 points to end at 214.40 and Royal Dutch Shell PLC B (LON:RDSb) was down 2.54% or 63.50 points to 2432.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1116 to 891 and 136 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.21% or 2.80 to $1345.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.16% or 0.75 to hit $65.48 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.62% or 0.43 to trade at $69.32 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.42% to 1.4249, while EUR/GBP rose 0.22% to 0.8766.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 88.59.
