Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Fixed Line Telecommunications, Industrial Transportation and Household Goods & Home Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 declined 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Entain PLC (LON:ENT), which rose 2.74% or 17.00 points to trade at 638.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Burberry Group PLC (LON:BRBY) added 2.26% or 15.20 points to end at 686.60 and Auto Trader Group Plc (LON:AUTOA) was up 1.57% or 12.80 points to 825.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Rightmove PLC (LON:RMV), which fell 2.78% or 15.20 points to trade at 532.00 at the close. Berkeley Group Holdings PLC (LON:BKGH) declined 2.63% or 140.00 points to end at 5,175.00 and Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES) was down 2.03% or 11.00 points to 532.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 932 to 804 and 737 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.60% or 39.80 to $2,532.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.55% or 1.21 to hit $76.95 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.36% or 1.10 to trade at $79.94 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.47% to 1.29, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 102.52.
