Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Mobile Telecommunications, Industrial Metals & Mining and Automobiles & Parts sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 fell 0.48% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Centrica PLC (LON:CNA), which rose 3.02% or 2.80 points to trade at 95.40 at the close. Meanwhile, National Grid PLC (LON:NG) added 1.69% or 14.10 points to end at 849.60 and Compass Group PLC (LON:CPG) was up 1.38% or 23.50 points to 1730.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ITV PLC (LON:ITV), which fell 6.33% or 7.55 points to trade at 111.80 at the close. Tui AG (LON:TUIT) declined 5.65% or 46.80 points to end at 781.00 and Vodafone Group PLC (LON:VOD) was down 5.19% or 7.22 points to 131.78.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1566 to 574 and 289 ended unchanged.
Shares in ITV PLC (LON:ITV) fell to 5-year lows; losing 6.33% or 7.55 to 111.80.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.07% or 13.75 to $1301.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.30% or 0.80 to hit $60.86 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.01% or 0.71 to trade at $69.91 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.35% to 1.2954, while EUR/GBP rose 0.35% to 0.8675.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 97.090.
