Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Fixed Line Telecommunications, Beverage and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 fell 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Intermediate Capital Group PLC (LON:ICGIN), which rose 2.27% or 46.00 points to trade at 2,072.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON:FLTRF) added 2.00% or 410.00 points to end at 20,880.00 and NatWest Group PLC (LON:NWG) was up 1.95% or 7.30 points to 381.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (LON:ICAG), which fell 3.58% or 11.30 points to trade at 304.60 at the close. Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES) declined 3.52% or 23.50 points to end at 644.50 and Rightmove PLC (LON:RMV) was down 3.19% or 20.60 points to 624.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1136 to 676 and 595 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.19% or 32.35 to $2,682.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.38% or 1.80 to hit $77.55 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.97% or 1.57 to trade at $81.33 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.22, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 109.72.
