Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Forestry & Paper, Real Estate Investment Trusts REITs and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 lost 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Capita PLC (LON:CPI), which rose 1.97% or 2.70 points to trade at 139.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Admiral Group PLC (LON:ADML) added 1.61% or 32.00 points to end at 2019.00 and Direct Line Insurance Group PLC (LON:DLGD) was up 1.49% or 4.80 points to 327.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Intu Properties PLC (LON:INTUP), which fell 5.68% or 9.65 points to trade at 160.30 at the close. Mediclinic International PLC (LON:MDCM) declined 3.66% or 17.90 points to end at 471.60 and Dixons Carphone PLC (LON:DC) was down 3.35% or 5.90 points to 170.05.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1275 to 747 and 330 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.37% or 16.70 to $1202.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.29% or 1.55 to hit $66.08 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.95% or 1.42 to trade at $71.39 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.14% to 1.2753, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.8933.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 96.26.
