Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Mining, Oil Equipment Services & Distribution and General Retailers sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 declined 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were St. James’s Place PLC (LON:SJP), which rose 2.15% or 24.00 points to trade at 1142.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Barclays PLC (LON:BARC) added 1.96% or 3.60 points to end at 187.60 and Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC (LON:RBS) was up 1.33% or 3.20 points to 244.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were BHP Billiton PLC (LON:BLT), which fell 3.77% or 55.00 points to trade at 1402.50 at the close. Antofagasta PLC (LON:ANTO) declined 3.73% or 39.00 points to end at 1008.00 and Kingfisher PLC (LON:KGF) was down 3.61% or 10.80 points to 288.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1022 to 873 and 504 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.15% or 2.05 to $1352.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.89% or 0.93 to hit $48.16 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.59% or 0.32 to trade at $54.17 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.69% to 1.3202, while EUR/GBP fell 0.63% to 0.9119.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 91.27.
