Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrial Transportation, Tobacco and Mobile Telecommunications sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 lost 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were DCC plc (LON:DCC), which rose 2.87% or 200.0 points to trade at 7165.0 at the close. Meanwhile, RSA Insurance Group PLC (LON:RSA) added 2.78% or 16.00 points to end at 591.00 and Burberry Group PLC (LON:BRBY) was up 1.74% or 35.00 points to 2050.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Royal Mail PLC (LON:RMG), which fell 17.96% or 85.70 points to trade at 391.40 at the close. EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) declined 7.00% or 92.00 points to end at 1222.00 and The Berkeley Group Holdings plc (LON:BKGH) was down 3.37% or 124.00 points to 3555.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1123 to 921 and 342 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.28% or 3.30 to $1192.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.92% or 1.41 to hit $74.66 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.90% or 1.57 to trade at $84.30 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.02% to 1.3034, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.8877.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 94.97.
