Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Automobiles & Parts, Oil Equipment Services & Distribution and Mobile Telecommunications sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 fell 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Royal Mail PLC (LON:RMG), which rose 4.21% or 14.50 points to trade at 358.90 at the close. Meanwhile, EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) added 3.37% or 36.00 points to end at 1104.00 and Burberry Group PLC (LON:BRBY) was up 2.27% or 38.00 points to 1709.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Paddy Power Betfair PLC (LON:PPB), which fell 4.00% or 270.00 points to trade at 6485.00 at the close. Vodafone Group PLC (LON:VOD) declined 1.90% or 2.90 points to end at 149.56 and Merlin Entertainments PLC (LON:MERL) was down 1.84% or 6.00 points to 319.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1153 to 879 and 318 ended unchanged.
Shares in Vodafone Group PLC (LON:VOD) fell to 5-year lows; losing 1.90% or 2.90 to 149.56.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.06% or 0.70 to $1224.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.26% or 0.18 to hit $68.94 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.35% or 0.28 to trade at $79.50 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.92% to 1.2961, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.8842.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 95.81.
