Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Automobiles & Parts, Fixed Line Telecommunications and Electrical sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 declined 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ), which rose 2.85% or 44.50 points to trade at 1607.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Pearson PLC (LON:PSON) added 2.08% or 15.60 points to end at 767.00 and Capita PLC (LON:CPI) was up 1.67% or 2.80 points to 170.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were GKN PLC (LON:GKN), which fell 2.53% or 11.00 points to trade at 424.10 at the close. Hikma Pharmaceuticals PLC (LON:HIK) declined 2.05% or 18.40 points to end at 880.00 and Reckitt Benckiser Group PLC (LON:RB) was down 1.95% or 113.00 points to 5697.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1124 to 808 and 154 ended unchanged.
Shares in Pearson PLC (LON:PSON) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.08% or 15.60 to 767.00.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.25% or 3.30 to $1320.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.53% or 0.95 to hit $61.09 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.21% or 0.79 to trade at $64.70 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.34% to 1.3901, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8871.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 89.92.
