Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Automobiles & Parts, Industrial Metals & Mining and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 added 1.31%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were HSBC Holdings PLC (LON:HSBA), which rose 5.12% or 31.00 points to trade at 636.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Capita PLC (LON:CPI) added 4.99% or 6.00 points to end at 126.25 and Babcock International Group PLC (LON:BAB) was up 4.04% or 23.60 points to 607.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Randgold Resources Ltd (LON:RRS), which fell 2.12% or 136.00 points to trade at 6280.00 at the close. Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES) declined 1.74% or 15.80 points to end at 893.00 and Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (LON:RR) was down 1.90% or 16.20 points to 838.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1559 to 690 and 86 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $1232.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.78% or 0.53 to hit $67.06 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.45% or 0.35 to trade at $77.27 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.20% to 1.2805, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.8899.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 96.33.
