Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrial Metals & Mining, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Financial Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 gained 1.10%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Hargreaves Lansdown PLC (L:HRGV), which rose 5.26% or 70.00 points to trade at 1400.00 at the close. Meanwhile, ARM Holdings PLC (L:ARM) added 4.98% or 46.50 points to end at 979.50 and London Stock Exchange Group PLC (L:LSE) was up 4.21% or 100.00 points to 2475.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Burberry Group PLC (L:BRBY), which fell 8.24% or 117.000 points to trade at 1302.000 at the close. Sports Direct International PLC (L:SPD) declined 3.63% or 24.500 points to end at 650.500 and Glencore PLC (L:GLEN) was down 1.88% or 2.2500 points to 117.7500.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1445 to 676 and 471 ended unchanged.

Gold for December delivery was up 0.67% or 7.90 to $1187.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.02% or 0.94 to hit $45.70 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.92% or 0.46 to trade at $49.23 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.08% to 1.5490, while EUR/GBP fell 0.67% to 0.7363.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.32% at 94.29.
