Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Forestry & Paper, Pharmaceuticals & Biotech and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 rose 0.90%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ), which rose 5.18% or 63.00 points to trade at 1280.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Barratt Developments PLC (LON:BDEV) added 4.23% or 26.00 points to end at 640.50 and Persimmon PLC (LON:PSN) was up 4.18% or 108.00 points to 2690.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediclinic International PLC (LON:MDCM), which fell 1.08% or 7.00 points to trade at 643.00 at the close. Hikma Pharmaceuticals PLC (LON:HIK) declined 1.07% or 13.00 points to end at 1198.00 and CRH PLC (LON:CRH) was down 0.92% or 26.00 points to 2811.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1269 to 749 and 401 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.49% or 6.33 to $1278.47 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.65% or 1.37 to hit $50.30 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.67% or 0.95 to trade at $55.84 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.96% to 1.3268, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.8853.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.52% at 93.39.
