Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Mobile Telecommunications, Mining and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 added 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were BT Group PLC (LON:BT), which rose 8.43% or 11.00 points to trade at 141.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Entain PLC (LON:ENT) added 3.98% or 22.20 points to end at 580.40 and Centrica PLC (LON:CNA) was up 3.29% or 4.05 points to 127.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were JD Sports Fashion PLC (LON:JD), which fell 4.07% or 5.10 points to trade at 120.35 at the close. B&M European Value Retail SA (LON:BMEB) declined 2.22% or 10.10 points to end at 444.60 and Burberry Group PLC (LON:BRBY) was down 2.02% or 13.80 points to 671.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1011 to 740 and 722 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.21% or 30.00 to $2,503.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.42% or 1.86 to hit $78.70 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.98% or 1.58 to trade at $81.24 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.28, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 102.98.
