Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrial Metals & Mining, Mining and Electronic & Electrical Equipment sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 rose 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Anglo American PLC (LON:AAL), which rose 4.21% or 57.00 points to trade at 1409.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Rio Tinto PLC (LON:RIO) added 3.00% or 107.000 points to end at 3679.500 and Glencore PLC (LON:GLEN) was up 2.56% or 8.20 points to 328.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Capita PLC (LON:CPI), which fell 2.38% or 12.50 points to trade at 513.50 at the close. Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES) declined 1.99% or 31.00 points to end at 1524.00 and Direct Line Insurance Group PLC (LON:DLGD) was down 1.98% or 7.30 points to 360.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1218 to 710 and 413 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.89% or 11.05 to $1224.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.76% or 0.95 to hit $52.91 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.96% or 1.11 to trade at $55.59 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.10% to 1.2503, while EUR/GBP fell 0.46% to 0.8479.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 100.98.
