Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Forestry & Paper, Construction & Materials and Automobiles & Parts sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 added 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Intu Properties PLC (LON:INTUP), which rose 2.49% or 5.20 points to trade at 214.00 at the close. Meanwhile, CRH PLC (LON:CRH) added 2.33% or 63.00 points to end at 2761.00 and Mondi PLC (LON:MNDI) was up 2.33% or 42.00 points to 1845.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Persimmon PLC (LON:PSN), which fell 3.55% or 102.00 points to trade at 2772.00 at the close. Associated British Foods PLC (LON:ABF) declined 3.51% or 113.00 points to end at 3105.00 and EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) was down 3.29% or 43.00 points to 1262.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1068 to 878 and 459 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.81% or 10.33 to $1286.13 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.17% or 0.10 to hit $57.30 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.49% or 0.31 to trade at $64.00 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.48% to 1.3104, while EUR/GBP rose 0.50% to 0.8845.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 94.78.
