Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Electronic & Electrical Equipment, Electrical and Food Producers sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 added 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Tui AG (LON:TUIT), which rose 3.31% or 46.00 points to trade at 1438.00 at the close. Meanwhile, EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) added 2.10% or 28.00 points to end at 1361.50 and Old Mutual Ltd (LON:OMU) was up 2.09% or 3.32 points to 162.44 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES), which fell 3.65% or 31.40 points to trade at 829.60 at the close. Randgold Resources Ltd (LON:RRS) declined 2.53% or 138.00 points to end at 5322.00 and Next PLC (LON:NXT) was down 2.14% or 118.00 points to 5400.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1073 to 1006 and 325 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.56% or 6.70 to $1198.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.54% or 0.39 to hit $71.89 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.22% or 0.18 to trade at $81.08 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.04% to 1.3175, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.8917.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 93.84.
