Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Electronic & Electrical Equipment, Software & Computer Services and Beverage sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 gained 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Micro Focus International PLC (LON:MCRO), which rose 3.75% or 75.00 points to trade at 2077.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Admiral Group PLC (LON:ADML) added 3.74% or 79.00 points to end at 2191.00 and Halma PLC (LON:HLMA) was up 3.14% or 63.00 points to 2071.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were J Sainsbury PLC (LON:SBRY), which fell 4.01% or 7.85 points to trade at 188.00 at the close. BT Group PLC (LON:BT) declined 3.25% or 6.55 points to end at 194.80 and Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON:FLTRF) was down 2.97% or 174.00 points to 5690.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1250 to 937 and 211 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.31% or 18.35 to $1418.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.16% or 0.09 to hit $57.34 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.96% or 0.62 to trade at $63.83 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.04% to 1.2734, while EUR/GBP rose 0.31% to 0.8942.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 95.583.
