Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the General Industrial, Household Goods & Home Construction and Oil Equipment Services & Distribution sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 added 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were London Stock Exchange Group PLC (LON:LSE), which rose 1.77% or 82.00 points to trade at 4726.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC (LON:RBS) added 1.75% or 4.30 points to end at 249.30 and WM Morrison Supermarkets PLC (LON:MRW) was up 1.62% or 4.25 points to 266.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES), which fell 2.59% or 21.60 points to trade at 812.40 at the close. Provident Financial PLC (LON:PFG) declined 2.58% or 17.20 points to end at 648.60 and Glencore PLC (LON:GLEN) was down 1.76% or 5.20 points to 290.75.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1026 to 1022 and 315 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.10% or 1.20 to $1201.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.32% or 0.22 to hit $67.53 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.33% or 0.25 to trade at $77.08 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.84% to 1.3024, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.8909.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 95.07.
