Investing.com - U.S. stocks were down after the closing bell on Tuesday.
At the close of U.S. trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.67%, the S&P 500 index shed 0.97%, while the Nasdaq 100 index declined 0.90%.
Earlier in the day, official data showed that U.S. industrial production rose more-than-expected to 0.9% last month, from 0.4% in the preceding month whose figure was revised up from 0.2%.
Analysts had expected U.S. industrial production to rise 0.5% last month.
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, European stock markets were mixed at close. France’s CAC 40 was down 0.25%; Germany’s DAX shed 0.45%; Britain’s FTSE 100 climbed 0.13%; and the EURO STOXX 50 fell 0.03%.
At the close of U.S. trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.67%, the S&P 500 index shed 0.97%, while the Nasdaq 100 index declined 0.90%.

Analysts had expected U.S. industrial production to rise 0.5% last month.
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, European stock markets were mixed at close. France’s CAC 40 was down 0.25%; Germany’s DAX shed 0.45%; Britain’s FTSE 100 climbed 0.13%; and the EURO STOXX 50 fell 0.03%.
