Tyson Foods (NYSE:TSN) Chief Financial Officer John R. Tyson was arrested early Sunday morning, according to a report by KWNA on Monday.
Tyson, a fourth generation member of the Tyson family, was reportedly arrested after becoming intoxicated and falling asleep in the wrong home. KWNA said he was booked into the Washington County Jail.
Citing a preliminary report, KWNA said that at around 2:05 ET on Sunday, November 6, Tyson was found asleep in a woman's bed at her home. He did not know the woman, who called the police when she arrived and is said to have told dispatchers that she believed the front door was left unlocked, and that is how Tyson gained entry.
Once police arrived, they were said to have attempted to wake Tyson up, but he was unable to respond before trying to lay back down and go back to sleep, with KWNA stating that the report said: "there was an odor of alcohol."
Tyson, who was appointed Tyson Foods CFO on October 2 and is also the company's executive vice president, was arrested for Criminal Trespass and Public Intoxication before being released on Sunday evening.
Tyson Foods said in a statement to Investing.com that it is aware of CFO John R. Tyson's arrest, but has no other comment calling it a "personal matter".
