- Twitter (TWTR +0.8%) -- often under fire from users for slow upgrades to its interface -- is revamping its approach to "what's happening," including not just news but events of interest.
- The changes will include surfacing breaking news to the top of user timelines; redesigning its Explore search organized around topic (allowing for example a search for sports to surface live coverage of key events like the NBA finals); and a revamped look for its "Moments" feature, where it collates recap tweets and video of breaking or trending events or discussions.
- It will also include personalized notifications in order to help users discover content -- particularly users who don't already have a well-curated Twitter feed.
- The response on Twitter to the changes has the usual legion of users calling for "edit button," joined in that crusade by Kim Kardashian.
