  • TransCanada (NYSE:TRP) asks a Montana court to allow it to resume pre-construction activities on its Keystone XL oil pipeline after a U.S. judge issued an injunction blocking construction earlier this month.
  • TRP says it has temporarily halted all pre-construction work in the U.S. on the project as a result of the ruling and has filed an amendment with the court to narrow the scope of the injunction to allow it to continue pre-construction work including meetings with stakeholders, the movement of pipe and equipment, and early right-of-way work.
  • TRP tells the court that blocking pre-construction work even for several weeks likely would cause it to miss the entire 2019 construction season and delay its 2021 target to flow oil through the pipeline.
