Palantir (NYSE:PLTR) shares have remained resilient Thursday, climbing over 1% despite The Bear Cave newsletter releasing a short report on the stock.
The newsletter, written by Edwin Dorsey, claims that despite retail investor enthusiasm for the stock, the company is "an AI imposter engaging in spurious games to inflate its books and obfuscate its less sexy role as an overhyped data consultant."
Dorsey highlighted the recent investor hype regarding Palantir, which includes Palantir's newsletter, a retail investor Discord set up by an investor, a recent article from Motley Fool, and Cathie Wood's fund acquiring shares.
He also notes that AI was mentioned over 60 times in the company's earnings call.
"The Bear Cave believes the Palantir story is much less than meets the eye and that the company is a glorified consultant masquerading as an AI leader aided by spurious transactions to inflate the company’s financial profile," said Dorsey.
