ANKARA (Reuters) - Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan spoke by phone with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Tuesday and expressed concern about a German draft law on the 1915 killing of Armenians, Turkish presidential sources said.
German lawmakers are expected in June to back a planned resolution branding as "genocide" the mass killings of up to 1.5 million Armenians by Ottoman Turkish forces a century ago. Turkey denies that the massacres constituted genocide.
