That compared to EPS of $0.49 on revenue of $1.21B in the same period a year earlier. The company had reported EPS of $0.42 on revenue of $1.18B in the previous quarter.
Symantec shares gained 5.61% to trade at $22.20 in after-hours trade following the report.
