Investing.com – Sweden stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 gained 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were SSAB AB ser. A (ST:SSABa), which rose 3.38% or 1.38 points to trade at 42.18 at the close. Meanwhile, Boliden AB (ST:BOL) added 2.55% or 7.10 points to end at 286.00 and Volvo, AB ser. B (ST:VOLVb) was up 2.32% or 3.23 points to 142.53 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Atlas Copco AB Series B (ST:ATCOb), which fell 1.51% or 3.3 points to trade at 214.6 at the close. Atlas Copco AB Class A (ST:ATCOa) declined 1.27% or 3.1 points to end at 240.6 and Essity AB B (ST:ESSITYb) was down 1.05% or 2.30 points to 217.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Stockholm Stock Exchange by 352 to 269 and 58 ended unchanged.
Shares in Atlas Copco AB Series B (ST:ATCOb) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.51% or 3.3 to 214.6. Shares in Atlas Copco AB Class A (ST:ATCOa) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.27% or 3.1 to 240.6.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.67% or 0.50 to $73.64 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.23% or 0.18 to hit $78.42 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.38% or 4.80 to trade at $1258.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was up 0.04% to 10.2497, while USD/SEK fell 0.30% to 8.7627.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 94.09.
