• Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM) stock rose 6.02% after it said it would drop its bid for Dutch chipmaker NXP Semiconductors (NASDAQ:NXPI). New York listed shares of NXP slumped 4.44%
• Ford Motor (NYSE:F) stock sank 3.99% as it lowered its full-year 2018 adjusted earnings per share guidance.
• Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) jumped 3.41% despite mixed quarterly results as investors focused the fact that total high-speed internet customers increased by 260,000, beating the Factset consensus forecast of 195,000.
• Spotify (NYSE:SPOT) stock fell 2.34% as diluted net loss per share came in at $2.20, far larger than the $0.56 per share loss estimated by consensus.
