Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Trading, Footwear & Textile and Construction & Engineering sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 1.21% to hit a new 3-years low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS), which rose 25.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Associated Motor Finance Company PLC (CM:ASSO) added 18.25% or 73.00 points to end at 473.00 and York Arcade Holdings PLC (CM:YORK) was up 15.12% or 13.00 points to 99.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH), which fell 20.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.400 at the close. Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) declined 16.80% or 8.10 points to end at 40.10 and MTD Walkers PLC (CM:KAPI) was down 16.67% or 1.60 points to 8.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 148 to 41 and 44 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) rose to all time lows; up 25.00% or 0.100 to 0.500.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.69% or 0.50 to $72.58 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.01% or 0.81 to hit $81.34 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1205.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.28% to 222.040, while USD/LKR rose 0.12% to 168.870.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 93.76.
