Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Diversified Holdings and Footwear & Textile sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.77% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT), which rose 24.90% or 12.70 points to trade at 63.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Hunter & Company PLC (CM:HUNT) added 20.62% or 82.90 points to end at 485.00 and Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) was up 20.00% or 0.100 points to 0.600 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tal Lanka Hotels PLC (CM:TAJ), which fell 11.52% or 1.90 points to trade at 14.60 at the close. C W Mackie PLC (CM:CWM) declined 9.40% or 4.40 points to end at 42.40 and Property Development PLC (CM:PDL) was down 7.88% or 8.90 points to 104.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 94 to 74 and 54 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.28% or 0.95 to $74.89 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.01% or 0.78 to hit $78.08 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.50% or 6.20 to trade at $1247.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.56% to 209.150, while USD/LKR rose 0.08% to 158.510.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 94.41.
