Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Investment Trust, Banking, Financials & Insurance and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.76% to hit a new 3-years low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI), which rose 18.03% or 110.60 points to trade at 724.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) added 16.67% or 0.100 points to end at 0.700 and Eastern Merchants PLC (CM:EMER) was up 16.28% or 0.70 points to 5.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kelsey Developments PLC (CM:KDL), which fell 24.29% or 8.50 points to trade at 26.50 at the close. Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI) declined 16.35% or 234.60 points to end at 1200.00 and Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) was down 13.79% or 3.20 points to 20.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 86 to 81 and 46 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.15% or 0.11 to $73.36 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.27% or 0.22 to hit $82.95 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.50% or 6.00 to trade at $1190.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.02% to 220.740, while USD/LKR rose 0.02% to 169.190.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 94.75.
