Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Trading, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals and Diversified Holdings sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.69% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 25.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) added 16.04% or 154.80 points to end at 1120.00 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 14.29% or 0.1000 points to 0.8000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lankem Ceylon PLC (CM:LCEY), which fell 11.11% or 5.00 points to trade at 40.00 at the close. Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL) declined 10.53% or 2.20 points to end at 18.70 and Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ) was down 10.40% or 6.50 points to 56.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 98 to 65 and 59 ended unchanged.
Shares in Lankem Ceylon PLC (CM:LCEY) fell to 5-year lows; falling 11.11% or 5.00 to 40.00.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.38% or 0.18 to $47.41 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.51% or 0.26 to hit $50.47 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.81% or 10.42 to trade at $1279.98 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.77% to 197.185, while USD/LKR rose 0.01% to 153.160.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 93.64.
