Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Information Technology, Construction & Engineering and Investment Trust sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI), which rose 21.84% or 294.80 points to trade at 1644.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Carson Cumberbatch PLC (CM:CARS) added 19.96% or 49.90 points to end at 299.90 and Ceylon Tea Services PLC (CM:CTEA) was up 17.92% or 108.10 points to 711.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which fell 24.81% or 645.00 points to trade at 1955.10 at the close. Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) declined 13.33% or 10.00 points to end at 65.00 and Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) was down 13.20% or 6.10 points to 40.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 117 to 55 and 46 ended unchanged.
Shares in Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) fell to 3-years lows; falling 13.20% or 6.10 to 40.10.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 2.10% or 0.81 to $37.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.76% or 0.71 to hit $39.68 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.20% or 2.50 to trade at $1256.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.17% to 207.685, while USD/LKR fell 0.37% to 144.420.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.29% at 96.51.
