Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Power & Energy, Diversified Holdings and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.59%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Mercantile Shipping Company PLC (CM:MSL), which rose 14.64% or 11.30 points to trade at 88.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) added 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR) was up 11.82% or 147.80 points to 1397.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lanka IOC PLC (CM:LIOC), which fell 10.74% or 4.50 points to trade at 37.40 at the close. Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) declined 7.14% or 0.100 points to end at 1.300 and Browns Investments PLC (CM:BROW) was down 7.14% or 0.100 points to 1.300.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 95 to 65 and 74 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.23% or 0.11 to $47.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.52% or 0.26 to hit $49.41 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.31% or 4.05 to trade at $1328.65 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.04% to 192.225, while USD/LKR fell 0.01% to 145.640.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 94.65.
