Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Diversified Holdings, Telecoms and Hotels & Travel sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.57% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 16.67% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.7000 at the close. Meanwhile, People’s Merchant Finance PLC (CM:PMB) added 15.29% or 2.60 points to end at 19.60 and Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO) was up 14.08% or 6.70 points to 54.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ), which fell 16.25% or 6.50 points to trade at 33.50 at the close. Ceylon Leather Products PLC (CM:CLPL) declined 14.29% or 10.00 points to end at 60.00 and Trans Asia Hotels PLC (CM:TRAN) was down 12.13% or 11.40 points to 82.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 76 to 69 and 44 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for February delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $53.90 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.19% or 0.11 to hit $56.74 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.53% or 6.10 to trade at $1152.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 1.34% to 185.610, while USD/LKR unchanged 0.00% to 150.305.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 102.37.
