Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Beverages & Tobacco and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.54%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. Meanwhile, Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) added 50.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.300 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was up 28.57% or 0.200 points to 0.900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ceylon Tea Services PLC (CM:CTEA), which fell 8.24% or 50.30 points to trade at 559.90 at the close. Ceylinco Insurance PLC (CM:CINS) declined 7.79% or 143.70 points to end at 1700.00 and Colombo Fort Investments PLC (CM:CFI) was down 7.54% or 4.90 points to 60.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 96 to 88 and 53 ended unchanged.
Shares in Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) rose to all time lows; up 50.00% or 0.100 to 0.300. Shares in Colombo Fort Investments PLC (CM:CFI) fell to 5-year lows; down 7.54% or 4.90 to 60.10.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.68% or 0.41 to $61.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.56% or 0.36 to hit $65.00 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.14% or 1.80 to trade at $1325.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.08% to 217.675, while USD/LKR rose 0.10% to 155.900.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 89.78.
