Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Footwear & Textile, Power & Energy and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.52% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 20.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.6000 at the close. Meanwhile, Cargo Boat Development Company PLC (CM:CABO) added 15.86% or 10.80 points to end at 78.90 and Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL) was up 13.51% or 202.40 points to 1700.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Amana Takaful Life Ltd (CM:ANTK), which fell 13.33% or 0.20 points to trade at 1.30 at the close. Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) declined 11.11% or 0.100 points to end at 0.800 and Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) was down 10.00% or 0.100 points to 0.900.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 96 to 77 and 49 ended unchanged.
Shares in Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) fell to 52-week lows; down 11.11% or 0.100 to 0.800. Shares in Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) fell to 5-year lows; losing 10.00% or 0.100 to 0.900.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.16% or 0.11 to $70.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $77.12 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.11% or 1.40 to trade at $1319.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.36% to 214.585, while USD/LKR rose 0.08% to 157.930.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 92.22.
